Melbourne's 86 tram route as a giant open air gallery of street art

fff

Melbourne, Australia is internationally known for its street art and its trams. Melbourne Street Art 86 imagines Melbourne's 86 tram route as though it were a giant open air gallery of street art with its own regular tram service. The pages in the dark blue side bar below have photos of street art by the suburbs the tram passes through. Locations are noted by tram stop, street location and also on maps of the area that can be downloaded or printed. Other Melbourne suburbs rich in street art are also featured.

NORTHCOTE - High St

Melbourne Street Art on the 86 Tram Route: Northcote

Note: Click on any image to see an enlarged version

There are several street art pieces along High Street in Northcote with the majority being in Eastment Street, which runs parallel with High Street between 86 tram stop 31 and 32, and Little Eastment St between 86 tram stop 32 and 33 (a large open area with parking and garages behind the shops on the west side of High Street. What follows is by no means all there is to see; I have selected works that appeal to me. Also bear in mind that some works are replaced with others at times or may have been removed, so what you see here as of January 2013 may not all be there at a later time.

Northcote has a lot of street art in a small area. It was not possible to fit all the locations on one map. The map below is the first of a series of 4 maps of the area, with the orange shaded zones being the locations that will be covered in more detail by maps 2, 3 and 4 [these are still being created].

A pdf version is available here: Melbourne Street Art 86 - Northcote street art locations map 1 - main locations

As you progress down the page, the photographs commence at 86 tram stop 30 (Clarke Street) and finish just after stop 33 (Separation Street). Because there are many locations in two streets that are parallel to High Street (Little Eastment Street and Eastment Street) the location numbers assume moving in a circle as follows:

  1. All the way up High Street from 86 tram stop 30 (Clarke Street) to stop 33 (Separation St)
  2. Left into Arthurton Rd
  3. Left again into Little Eastment St and continuing down past the back of the High Street shops until Hawthorn Road
  4. Over Hawthorn Road and Continuing down Eastment Street (down meaning south, the street is actually a hill and if you follow this direction you will be going uphill) until Westbourne Grove
  5. Left again into Westbourne Grove, bringing you back to High Street and emerging next to the Town Hall 86 tram stop 31 (Northcote Town Hall)

If this seems confusing, eventually I will add a diagram to make it clearer.

  1. How Lemeridian funding service  grant me a loan!!!

Hello everyone, I'm Lea Paige Matteo from Zurich Switzerland and want to use this medium to express gratitude to lemeridian funding service for fulfilling his promise by granting me a loan, I was stuck in a financial situation and needed to refinance and pay my bills as well as start up a Business. I tried seeking for loans from various loan firms both private and corporate organisations but never succeeded and most banks declined my credit request. But as God would have it, I was introduced by a friend named Lisa Rice to Le_meridian funding service and undergone the due process of obtaining a loan from the company, to my greatest surprise within 48hrs just like my friend Lisa, I was also granted a loan of $216,000.00 So my advise to everyone who desires a loan, "if you must contact any firm with reference to securing a loan online with low interest rate of 1.9% and better repayment plans/schedule, please contact Le_meridian funding service. Besides, he doesn't know that am doing this but due to the joy in me, I'm so happy and wish to let people know more about this great company whom truly give out loans, it is my prayer that GOD should bless them more as they put smiles on peoples faces. You can contact them via email on {lfdsloans@lemeridianfds.com Or lfdsloans@outlook.com} or Text through Whatsapp +1-989 394 3740.
